task 3

  1. Define truth, give a reference (Harvard please)

    1. the quality of being true

    2. the state or character of being true.

    3. if you believe in a lie it become true

    4. the fact about events, people, situation, history

    5. an obvious or accepted fact

Truth is subjective and depends on the situation, it does not have a black and white answer! It also depends on the individuals/social upbringing, perhaps the type of person who automatically trust all are easily fooled and for others who not see this unconditional ‘honesty’ in others might already question such things (this blog post has been written by a Photographic Retoucher who was never that trusting of photographs in the first place (or any other medium for that matter) and tends to wonder if the photographs featured in Newspapers do actually reflect back the ’story’ being told.. most of the time the answer would be a resounding no!)

  2. Give an example of how digital media can compromise your definition???

some say media lies and others say media never lies. but trying to find out who is right or wrong can take forever. i believe life needs to be this way. this way you would have to go that extra mile to find the truth your self. no relying on others.

do pictures lie? are they trying to give the wrong message out to the audience or the readers? these are the question many people talk about every single day around the world. The fact is; if we’re really searching for the truth, we must question everything we’ve been taught, and then change our thinking to wherever that leads us. For a wise person once said, ‘Our minds don’t control our beliefs, our beliefs control our minds.the thing is media its an entertainment that can be knowledgeable at the same time. a very good example would be the cartoons.

cartoon are digital and fake but they are there to knowledge the children and entertain them at the same time.

‘To say he is an artist is no more than the truth, but he is more than that: he is our greatest living cartoonist with a lifelong dedication to his craft … His work is truly international, yet absolutely grounded in the English comic tradition.’ Steve Bell

so its really up to us human to find the truth and decide our self what to believe
